Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 31, 2026.

Here’s what we collect, why we collect it, and what choices you have.

1. Overview

PadLync (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website padlync.com and related services (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways: (a) you give it to us directly when you create an account, list a property, fill out an inquiry or guest application, submit a support message, or pay the listing fee; (b) we collect it automatically when you use the Service, such as IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages visited, and approximate location; and (c) we receive it from third-party services such as our authentication provider (Supabase) and payment processor (e.g., Stripe).

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to: operate, maintain, and improve the Service; create and manage your account; publish listings and surface them to prospective renters and buyers; process the $9.99 listing fee; respond to support requests; detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; send you service-related notices; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.

4. Legal Bases (EEA/UK visitors)

If you are in the EEA or UK, our legal bases for processing are: performance of a contract when you create an account or list a property; our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service; your consent (which you can withdraw at any time) for optional features like marketing emails; and compliance with legal obligations.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We share information only as follows: with other users as needed to operate the Service (for example, a lister sees the name and message from a prospective renter who contacts them); with service providers that help us run the Service, including Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payment processing), and our email and hosting providers, under contracts that limit their use of the data; with authorities or third parties when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case you will be notified.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies. Essential cookies keep you signed in and remember your preferences; analytics cookies help us understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. You can disable cookies in your browser, but doing so may break parts of the Service.

7. Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We retain billing records for as long as required by tax and accounting law. We delete or anonymize personal information when it is no longer needed for the purposes described above, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

8. Security

We use commercially reasonable safeguards — encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and vetted infrastructure providers — to protect personal information. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

9. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and limit the use of sensitive personal information. To exercise any right, email hello@padlync.com. We will respond within the timeframes required by law.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

11. International Transfers

We are based in the United States, and the information we collect is stored and processed in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

12. Third-Party Links

The Service may link to third-party websites we don’t control. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Check their policies before submitting personal information.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we’ll provide a more prominent notice (for example, by email or an in-product banner).

14. Contact

PadLync is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. Reach us at hello@padlync.com or via the contact form on our Support page.
